Over the last 100 years the Society has published over 90 volumes of detailed historical research into the County of Sussex from 1066 to World War I. This research has also led to the creation of databases, records, images and texts covering many aspects of historical Sussex.
- Bibliography Index that catalogues and indexes publications about Sussex from over 6,500 authors who have written over 9,000 books, pamphlets and digital media and over 13,500 articles in listed journals or available online
- Photographic Archive of East Sussex Church Monuments which is a companion to Nigel Llewellyn’s volume East Sussex Church Monuments
- Roger Davey’s transcription of East Sussex Window and House Tax Assessments 1747 from documents in the East Sussex Record Office
- Picture Database which records the owners, artists and location of the majority of historical pictures of Sussex and was produced by John Farrant as part of his research for Sussex Depicted – Views and descriptions 1600-1800
- Stories of life in Sussex such as Love Lost and Found in the Church Courts
- Sussex Maps which features many of the historical maps of Sussex and links into David Kingsley’s Printed Maps of Sussex, 1575-1900
- Sussex Pictures which displays many of the paintings and etchings of Sussex and links to Sussex Depicted – Views and descriptions 1600-1800 by John H. Farrant
- Sussex People which presents a series of biographies of people who have made significant contributions to Sussex
- West Sussex Burial Index 1538-1600 has been compiled from all surviving Parish Registers and Bishop’s Transcripts. The entries have been extracted by a team of volunteers in the West Sussex Record Office, organised by Peter Wilkinson
- Database of Poor Law records for West Sussex sets out to bring together the fullest picture yet to be achieved of an almost invisible community: the English rural poor from 1662 to 1835
