Besides serving its primary purpose of guiding pedestrians of to-day, the booklet is of permanent value as a record of paths, boundaries and other minor features of the countryside now existing, but which in course of time may disappear. Copies should be preserved for this purpose, and similar surveys of other areas are much to be desired.
