Preview:After four months at sea they landed near the mouth of Chesapeake Bay on 19 April 1607 and settled and named the town after King James I. Among the 105 people who were to remain in the colony was Reverend Robert Hunt. He had been appointed vicar of Reculver in Kent in 1594, married Elizabeth Edwards in 1597 and they had two children. He was installed as vicar of Heathfield on 5 October 1601 and sailed to the America without his family to be chaplain of the new colony where he died in 1608.
