Sarah, daughter of Samuel Russell and Sophia Company, was born on 2 December 1822 at Etchingham. She married Ebenezer Caleb Crouch on 20 October 1846 in Ticehurst. They joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and emigrated to Utah in 1856 where Ebenezer died in 1872 and Sarah died in 1893.

No one in my family knew that we had Mormon relatives, until I took up family history in 2000. There is an Ancestral File of our family on the IGI, but that tells us very little. When and where did they become Latter Day Saints? When did the family emigrate? What was the journey like?
