Abstract:One of the oldest trackways in Hastings and St Leonards, the Ridge would have been used by William the Conqueror on his way to the battle field of Senlac. The track developed with grand Victorian villas and the spread of urbanisation. Sadly today the imposing Victorian architecture has nearly all been replaced by modern blocks of flats and apartments. This book tells that story.
