Abstract:The tower and spire of this church have been carefully studied by Fred Aldsworth in recent papers in this journal. This study reassesses the whole of the architectural history of the church using both the documentary evidence and the archaeological evidence. For the latter, the changing use of the building stone types has been particularly useful.
