Henry Fauntleroy (1785-1824) was a wealthy banker who lived at the west end of Codrington Place, Western Road, Brighton. He misappropriated over £17,000 of other peoples' securities and investments, imprisoned in Newgate Gaol and executed on 30 November 1824 in front of a crowd estimated as over 100,000.
