This edition also includes a reprint of an article from SAS Vol X 1858 (Smuggling in Sussex by William Durrant Cooper); an extract from an article in SAS Vol IX 1857 (Extracts from the Journal of Walter Gale p194-195) and an extract from an article in SAS Vol XX1V 1872 (Newspaper Cuttings Relating to Sussex p140-142). Some newspaper cuttings relating to smuggling and inns in Rowlands Castle, Rake and Slindon have been stuck inside the book, probably by Mervyn Cutten.
