Preview:William Franklin Hick (c.1770-), corn merchant of Lewes, married Mary Hamlin on 22 August 1796 and through this marriage he gained effective day-to-day control over about 650 acres of his wife's land and property in East Grinstead, Lindfield, Buxted, Maresfield, Nutley. They had one child, Mary Ann, born 28 May 1798, who married Dr. Thomas Haire in 1844
