Margarett Holmes, born 1 September 1864 in Hurstpierpoint the daughter of Edmund Holmes and Elizabeth née Miller, gave birth to Ethel Violet Angelo Holmes on 15 February 1881 in Brighton. Ethel's father remains a mystery. In 1890 Margarett married Henry Thomas Packham in London and Ethel married Harry Richard Mitchell in 1906.
