My 3x great grandfather Herbert SARGENT was born in Beckley, East Sussex in 1843 to James SARGENT, an agricultural labourer born 1801 in Crowhurst and Sarah CUTBUSH born 1801 in Beckley. James and Sarah married 3rd November 1821 in Beckley and Herbert was the youngest of nine known children, all born in Beckley.
