Preview:The sons of James and Rhoda Wing led very different lives. John (1841-1870) lived in Portslade and died of consumption at the age of 28 leaving his young widow with five children to raise. Thomas (1843-1931) emigrated to New Zealand at the age of 14, fought in the Maori Wars, and lived to the age of 88.
