(190) ORE, St. Helen
Reportedly fine but with poor chancels in 1724 (Ford 99); enlarged in 1821 by a new aisle with 200 seats - Horsfield (Sussex I 440-1); totally replaced in 1869 - Nairn & Pevsner (577); 190A was moved to the new building from the 'Old Parish Church', in 1882, as perhaps were others in this period; some backplates and corbels are, perhaps, replacements; Ore had c.25 families in 1724 and a population of 243 in 1801; now a suburb of Hastings.

- Black baseplate with pointed pediment and ornamental palmettes; M.I. (16 lines engraved and black) on a white rectangular panel with cornice and dropped ends; 2 small corbels; signed: 'VIDLER & Co. HASTINGS'.

- M.I. (16 lines, engraved, black) on trapezoidal, unframed panel; 2 small black corbels; above, a cornice and a plain pointed pediment.
- Rev. Mitford Peacock, Fellow of Corpus Christi, Cambridge, died Hastings, 20 May 1828, aet 27; eldest son of Rev. D.M. Peacock, rector of Great Stainton, Durham; his Christian virtues.

- M.I. (19 lines, engraved, black) on a white marble rectangular panel; substantial black slate base; below, 2 tiny corbels.
