(227) SELMESTON, St. Mary
A Perpendicular church; major 19th-century restorations under Rev. William Douglas Parish; South aisle of 1867 - Nairn & Pevsner (604-5); parish had 17 families in 1724 and a population of 130 in 1801; many of the original M.I.s on stone slabs and tablets were re-located and refashioned on brasses during the 19th-century restoration.

- In freestone; arched and panelled recess; M.I. (2) on back wall; Tudor arch; foliage in spandrels; flanking, attached, faceted pilasters; another M.I. (1) in frieze; above, cresting; plain ledger; below, tomb-chest with further M.I. (3); 4 decorative quatrefoils.
