Early English and Decorated with Victorian restorations - Nairn & Pevsner (480); views in BL King MS 42 f.42 and BL Add. MS 5676 f.78; paving reported poor in 1686, but generally fine in 1724 (Ford); parish had only 24 communicants in 1693, see Renshaw (Ecclesiastical Returns).

- 98(W) x 160(H)~Very good condition; colour.
- Black frame round M.I. on white marble tablet, set portrait-wise; below, 2 small black corbels support grey marble base mouldings; above, grey marble broken pediment & white marble achievement; signed (lower moulding): 'WILLIAMS. BRIGHTON'.
- Henry Bates, Esq., d. 6 Aug 1826, aet 72; his son, John Henry Bates, Esq., deputy-lieutenant of the county, d. 21 Mar 1828, aet 50; and John Henry Bates' wife, Harriet Eliza, d. 20 Oct 1826, aet 41; and their son, Francis Edward, d. 13 Nov 1824, aet 13.
