(9) ARLINGTON, St. Pancras
A flint church with Anglo-Saxon and later mediaeval phases - Nairn & Pevsner (399-400); for a view by Lambert from South-East see BL Add. MS 5676 f.74; for a plan see SNQ (VI 53); interior heavily restored in the late 19th century with pews moved and floors excavated, see Powell 'Notes on Arlington Church' (SAC 38 184-188); reports of 1686 and 1724 suggest that condition was poor (Ford); amongst the ledgers, Horsfield (Sussex I 321) notes only 9E but the Additions to Arlington were probably lost late in the 19th century when 9A-D were re-positioned.
