- 120(W) x 300(H)~Fine; colour restored.
- Largely in terracotta; M.I. (engraved, black) on a tablet set landscape-wise; gilded arms and architectural flanking, fluted columns; above a small pointed pediment with 3 flaming urns; below, base mouldings; ornamental apron with escutcheon.
- John Newington, Gent., of Towngate, Wadhurst, d. 7 Feb 1783, aet 55; his wife, Mary, d. 16 Dec 1794, aet 64; both buried at Wadhurst; their son, Joseph erected the monument.
