299L Mural monument for John STEWART, d. 1780

-  South aisle wall, East of centre, high.

-  c.90(W); (H) inaccessible~Fine; water damage.

-  In grey-veined and white marbles on black baseplate with pointed top; ornamental apron; M.I. (engraved, black) on 50% of tablet; flanking, flat pilasters; entablature and pointed finials; above, a grey baseplate supports an urn in relief on another triangular plate; below, base mouldings and a decorated apron with achievement.

-  John Stewart, Esq., commander of the Mount Stuart, Indiaman, d. 3 Oct 1780, aet 40; fourth son of Charles Stewart, Esq., of Ardsheal, Argyllshire.
