31B Mural monument for Rev. James HURDIS, d. 1801

-  North-East choir wall, North-East corner, facing West, at head height.

-  (1) Lower: 62.5(W) x 38(H); (2) Upper: 67(W) x 79(H)~Good; local damage to (2).

-  (1) is a M.I. (8 lines, engraved and black, signed 'W.Hayley Esqr') on a rectangular tablet; a thin engraved border.@ (2) is a M.I. (15 lines, centred, engraved and black) on a raised oval tablet of grey marble.

-  Rev. James Hurdis, D.D., Professor of Poetry, Oxford and vicar of Bishopstone; d. 23 Dec 1801, aet 38; patron his four unnamed sisters.
