93A Wall monument for Henry LUSHINGTON, d. 1763

-  South nave aisle, South wall, near West end, at head height.

-  147(W) x 287(H)~Very good; cracks (arms).

-  Portrait bust in civil dress on moulded pedestal against grey marble backplate contained within moulded ogival arch; over the subject's head, an escutcheon flanked by garlands; below, straight base moulding, then M.I. (many lines, engraved, black) filling an unframed white marble panel set landscape-wise; at foot, 2 scrolled corbels.

-  Henry Lushington, soldier (East India, Calcutta, etc.), from 1754, died Patna, India, 1763, aet 26; eldest son of Henry Lushington, D.D., vicar of Eastbourne, and Mary his wife.
