- M.I. (22 + 22 lines, engraved, black) on a white marble panel; thick black baseplate; below, base mould, 2 squared corbels with rose decorative; above, decorative frieze, cornice moulding and pointed pediment with blank lozenge.
- John Mortimer, late of Lewisham, Kent, d. 6 Oct 1824, aet 49; second son of Charles Smith and Elizabeth Mortimer, of Eastbourne; John Mortimer's eldest son, John Russell, d. 27 Oct 1810, aet 4; and his youngest son, John, of Redhill, Surrey, d. 18 Nov 1876, aet 65, buried at Norwood; also Charles and Elizabeth Mortimer's youngest daughter, Maria d. 17 Jan 1866, aet 81.
