93MM Mural monument for Thomas ALCHORNE and others, dated 1735
- Choir South wall, West end, high up.
- 110(W) x 260(H)~Excellent; local damage (lower left); colour.
- In a variety of marbles and coloured stones; M.I. (11 lines) in upper 75% of a black rectangular panel set portrait-wise; flanking, decorative panels and scrolls; above, cornice mouldings, flaming lamps left and right, large central achievement on a stand; below, thick dark base moulding on 2 scrolled corbels; between, the apron formed by a voluted cap on an acanthus corbel.
- Thomas Alchorne, Esq., and his wife, Frances, d. 10 Sep 1735, daughter of John De La Chambre, son of Sir Laurence De La Chambre, of Rodmell, Sussex; issue - three daughters, two of whom, Anne and Judith, died as infants; also her sister, Anne De La Chambre.
