- In white marble on a black baseplate with curved profile, top and bottom; M.I. (13 lines, engraved, black) on a panel of sarcophagus form, on legs, on a ledge; above, moulding; at top, in low relief, a three-masted ship under sail; unsigned.
- James Ranking, Commander of the SS Vittoria, d. 12/13 Feb 1827, aet 44, drowned in the Bay of Biscay; also John Ranking, died Surinam, dates unknown, aet 14; admonitory text.
