118A Mural monument for John CHEYNEY, d. 1603, and his wife Elizabeth

-  Chancel, North wall, at head height.

-  145(W) x 179(H)~Poor; restored and reassembled; many losses.

-  In various coloured marbles, slate and alabaster; 2 adult kneelers on cushions; in civil dress (he is armoured); no prayer desk; a restored colonette; female figure on right with daughter behind her; flanking, squared pillars; above, entablature with pillowy frieze; ribbon work; below, base moulding, gadroon ornament, M.I. on a framed slate panel set landscape-wise; at foot, plaque with a winged death's head relief.

-  John Cheyney, Esq., d. 20 Sep 1603; his wife, Elizabeth, daughter of John [P]alme[r], Esq., of Lincoln's Inn; their issue, 1 son and 1 daughter (unnamed).
