- A white marble tablet on black marble composite baseplate with M.I.; mouldings top and bottom on 2 corbels with acanthus decoration; above, a female figure kneels at an altar with a rose dropping from a bowl; at top, a cornice, pointed pediment with palmettes flanking and an exhortation.

Paris 10 Mar 1822, aet 63; his wife, Anna Maria, died at Brighton 24 Jul 1849, aet 79; their issue - eldest daughter, Anna, d. 7 Mar 1826, aet 33; second daughter, Lucy Frances, died at Paris, 5 Jun 1825, aet 30, wife of Thomas Finimore Hill, Esq.; son, Charles Goring Lewis, Esq. and his wife, Elizabeth Jane; their issue, eldest son, Charles Wells, d. 3 Apr 1842, aet 12; and Emma, died at Brighton, 5 Feb 1857, aet 54.
