195C Mural monument for Richard SHELLEY, d. 1594

-  Chancel North wall, at head height.

-  173(W) x 139(H)~Fragments only; worn; local damage; traces of lime wash(?).

-  In soft freestone; no effigy; M.I. (3 lines engraved, recut?) on convex frieze with cornice and dentils over; below, an entablature; in the centre, a large achievement-of-arms flanked by two nude mourning or allegorical figures (Labour and Rest?), one (right) holding a spade; baluster columns between; below, a moulded ledge, a blank basement and more mouldings on four ruined corbels, close to the baluster capitals in form.
