222H Mural monument for John and Jane MICKLETHWAITE, d. 1824 and 1819

-  Vestry, East wall, above head height.

-  122(W) x c.280(H)~Good; colour; faded.

-  Above, a black slate back-plate in obelisk form; at top, small escutcheon over a white marble urn in relief on a M.I. (engraved, black) fills a tablet with ornamental top, set landscape-wise; chalice, serpent (eternity), sun-burst of glory, palmettes; below, corbels with paired ring decorative.

-  John Micklethwaite, Esq., lay rector of Salehurst, of Iridge Place, d. 20 Apr 1824, aet 67; his wife, Jane, d. 12 Aug 1819, aet 65, daughter of Josiah Corthine, Esq., of Anlaby, Yorkshire.
