283A Mural monument for Thomas SAWYER, d. 1705, and two later generations

-  South nave aisle, South-West corner, West wall, high up.

-  75(W) x 180(H)~Very good.

-  M.I. (engraved, black) fills a tablet; unframed; set portrait-wise; below, a grey marble base moulding; ornamental apron with volutes, foliage, a black ball finial and small escutcheon; above, moulded cornice and a broken scrolled pediment; lamp in centre.

-  Thomas Sawyer, late of Hoathly Hill, d. 1 Oct 1705; his wife, Mary, d. 24 Mar 1737/8, aet 80; their issue - (sons) Thomas, d. 26 Aug 1728; and Stephen, d. 19 Jun 1761, aet 71; Stephen's widow, Elizabeth, d. 9 Mar 1772, aet 81; their issue, Anne, d. 19 May 1731, aet 3; Stephen, d. 5 May 1772, aet 46.
